Halloween

Stanley celebrated Halloween by helping carve a pumpkin and trick-or-treating.

Helping scoop out the seeds

Actually he could care less about scooping, he just loved the big spoon!

Stanley's first trick-or treat

Stanley carried this peanut-butter cup all night. He kept trying to put it in other people's candy bowls instead of taking new candy.

Happy Halloween!

Baby Gym

Stanley loves going to the Baby Gym at a local community center. He plays with his friends and climbs on the equipment. This should be a regular indoor activity now that the winter rains are here!

Pumpkin Patch

Stanley made his first trip to the pumpkin patch last weekend! He loved walking around in the fields, watching the tractors, and looking at the pigs and chickens. He even picked out his own perfect little tiny pumpkin.

We went to Kruger's Farm on Sauvie Island. It was a beautiful day!

Stanley wore his spooky skeleton outfit.

There was so much to see!

The family portrait

Stanley picked out his own little pumpkin from the tiny pumpkin patch.

Stanley was so curious about the pumpkins and corn.

He loved touching all the different shapes and sizes of pumpkins. He even stuck his hand in a rotten one!

Stanley had a fun day at the pumpkin patch with his mom and dad.

Apple Tasting Festival

We went to Portland Nursery's Apple Tasting Festival yesterday. They set up long tables and put out around 30 different types of apples and pears to taste. Stanley had his fair share of apples and apple cider to try. Then we picked out some apples and pears to take home. Stanley brought his new wagon to help carry the fruit we bought.

Zoo

We went to the zoo on this beautiful October day. Stanley had fun looking at the animals (and other kids), playing in a grassy field with his friend Olin, and eating a yummy lunch.

These fish were almost as big as Stanley! He saw a lot of other fun swimming animals, like turtles, sea lions and polar bears, too!

The zoo is setting up for their "Zoo Lights" festival that goes through December. I couldn't get Stanley away from these lights on the fence!

Stanley liked looking at the farm animals, like the goats and pigs. He had no fear and stuck his hand through the fence to pet the goats.

Fall Nature Walk

It is a beautiful crisp Fall day today in Portland. Stanley and I went for a walk at Tryon Creek State Park. He picked up leaves, ran on the trails, and ate lunch. He's such a good little hiker!

What's Been Happening?

There hasn't been an update for a while! Stanley started walking full-force, and I spend a lot more time wrangling him these days. I'm lucky to have a second to snap a picture, but here's a few things we've been up to lately.

We went to Polish Festival where Stanley had his first pierogies, kielbasa, and golabki. We also watched Polish music and dancing.

We've been going to Baby Gym at a local community center with our friends from the mom's group. There's a nice park outside where they also like to play and share a snack.

The park near our house has a great toddler play area where Stanley likes to climb and play with the other kids. He also loves to dig in the sandbox.

Stanley's gotten really good at eating with a spoon. I made him Cinnamon-Raisin Oatmeal, which he's eating in this picture, and every bite he said, "Mmmmmm!"
