Dozer Day

Stanley's dreams came true today: He got to drive a digger! Dozer Day is such a fun event. Many construction trucks are set up for kids to drive. It was such a fun morning!

Walking up to the digger

Dumping the load

Doing some of his own digging

Happy Mother's Day!

Stanley helped make this the best Mother's Day! Not to mention, Matt, who did everything today, including grilling steak and lobster tails for dinner. YUM!

We send our love to Tennessee Grandma and Mimi, and we love you very much!

All Stanley could talk about was buying me
roses for Mother's Day. He was so excited to
give me the pink roses he picked out!

We had lunch in the park at Portland Sunday
Parkways. They close the streets and people can
ride their bikes through the neighborhoods.

Hiking in the "Jungle"

Stanley, Glory and I went for a hike today at Tryon Creek, or as Stanley called it, "the jungle." We had a fun time listening to birds, searching for slugs, and crossing bridges. The highlight of the trip was definitely Stanley's talent show (story and picture below).

Meeting a wood snail

Hiding in the trees

In a "tree tunnel"

Hiking buddies

Red Fox Bridge

Stopping for a snack

Stanley said, "Mommy and Glory come watch
my talent show!" Then he stood on this platform
and sang song after song at the top of his lungs.
He even made up a song that went something like,
"Oh me oh my, I love trees.
Trees go up and trees go down. I love trees!"

A really cool lichen I found
