We took a fun family vacation to San Diego. We were busy and had lots of adventures!
Saturday
We flew to San Diego in the morning. When we landed we headed to the San Diego zoo to meet my college friend, Abby, and her family. We spent the afternoon at the zoo with our friends. We saw koalas, a baby giraffe, pandas, and more. After the zoo, we went to my friend Jenna's house, where we spent the night.

Sunday
Sunday was Mother's Day, and we spent the day at the beach. The kids jumped in the waves, ran in the sand, and discovered creatures in tide pools.

Monday
Monday was Lisa's 5th birthday! We woke up and drove to Legoland.

We checked into the Legoland hotel in the afternoon. We had dinner at the hotel buffet, and they brought her a cupcake and sang to her.

The Legoland hotel was so fun! There was a disco ball in the elevator, a treasure chest with a Lego prize in the room, bunkbeds, a dance party every night, and kids' activities in the evening. We went to a story telling performance and Lisa got picked to be one of the characters in the show.

Tuesday
We had a whole day at the Legoland park. The kids loved the roller coasters! Lisa rode on a carousel made of Lego horses and watched a live performance of the Lego Friends.

In the evening, Stanley entered a Lego building competition. Then we went for a swim (a VERY cold swim) in the outdoor hotel pool.

Wednesday
We checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport. On the way, I got a notification that our flight was cancelled. After waiting for a long time in line, we were rescheduled on a different flight that got us home 4 hours later. When we arrived in Portland, we discovered they lost one of our bags. Luckily, everything turned out fine, with our bag being delivered the next day. For lots of travel stresses, the end of our trip ended as good as it could've considering the circumstances.
