Nature Preschool

Stanley has been going to nature preschool once a week since the beginning of the school year. He is at a local park for two hours, all outside, hiking and learning about nature topics. He's learned about ants, chickadees, stars, and spiders, to just name a few. He has gone in all types of weather, from hot to cold to rainy, and he always has a great time. I love that he gets to form such a deep connection with a forest and see it in all types of conditions.

Monster Jam

Matt and Stanley made their annual trip to Monster Jam. Stanley is always so excited to go with his daddy. He even said that maybe Lisa and I can go next year! However, he said the mommy's always put their hands over their ears. Some highlights for Stanley were watching the trucks jump and seeing the new cars that were lined up for the monster trucks to smash.

Lisa's 9-Month Doctor Update

Lisa had her 9-Month check-up this week. She got a vaccination and did great with it as always. She's a trooper when it comes to shots. She was actually ON the chart for her weight this time (97% percentile), but still off the charts for her height. She's doing great on all her milestones. She needs to work on bearing weight on her legs when standing, but maybe it's just that she's so big! She crawls great and is pulling up to her knees. So this next month or two should bring pulling up to standing and maybe taking a few steps! I'll keep you posted!

Special Person Tea

Stanley's preschool had a Special Person Tea for Valentine's Day. He chose to invite me, his mommy, to come. He made me an invitation and bath bombs for a gift. We had a snack, looked at his class valentines, and played with friends.

9-Months Old

Lisa turned 9-months old on Valentine's Day. She is crawling and crawling! She loves to play with her brother, which means crawling on him, grabbing him, and screaming, and trying to get any of his toys. Stanley is so patient with her, and he is such a great helper.

Lisa loves to eat. Some of her favorite foods are scrambled egg yolks, goat cheese, apple sauce pancakes, Cheerios, apples, pears, and watermelon.

Lisa is so active, funny, loud, and happy. It's fun to watch her personality blossom!

9-months Old

SNOW!

I know our Midwestern family and friends will laugh at our meager snow fall we got here in Portland, but it is a pretty major event for us. It's the most snow Portland has gotten in February since 1993! (Matt and I didn't even live here then.) Stanley was so excited to go outside. The first thing he wanted to do was throw snowballs. Lisa also experienced her first big snow fall. She was fine until her feet got cold from sitting in the snow, which made her cry. It was a fun, wintry white day!
