Happy Halloween!

Today was a seriously rainy Halloween! But it was nice it was a Saturday, so we could celebrate all day long. We had ghost toast for breakfast, pumpkin-shaped pb&j's for lunch, and mummy hot dogs and sweet potato jack-o-lanterns for dinner! We even made a pumpkin pie from a real pumpkin! It was also super-fun to carve our jack-o-lanerns on Halloween day. Stanley and Matt braved the rain for some trick-or-treating, while Lisa and I stayed at home to hand out candy. Happy Halloween!

School Dance

Stanley went to his first school dance tonight. I volunteered to sell raffle tickets, and Stanley boogied with his friends.

Pumpkin Day

Stanley's classroom had a Pumpkin Day celebration today. Lisa and I got to go have fun at his school! We played games and made crafts...and Lisa loved playing in the play kitchen.

Boo Bash

The Halloween fun continues! Our sweet, little downtown throws a big Halloween celebration every year. All the businesses open their doors and hand out candy to hundreds of kids. They close down the streets and the town fills with costumes. Lisa was sick, so she stayed home with Matt. Stanley and I had so much fun, and he saw so many of his friends!

Fall Festival

Lisa's preschool had a Fall Festival with games and treats! The kids had so much fun wearing their costumes, playing ring toss, jumping in the bouncy house, and eating candy corn. They even got to pick out books at the book fair!

Veteran's Day Assembly

At Stanley's elementary school, they do a slide show celebrating veterans who have a connection to the students. This is the slide that will be in the show featuring my brother, Eric, who was in the Navy.

A Day in Lisa's Preschool

Since Lisa goes to a co-op preschool, parents have to take turns volunteering during class every month or so. Today was my turn! Here's a day in the life of Lisa's 2's preschool:

Singing at circle time

Listening to a story

Lining up to go on a pumpkin hunt

Lisa's Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Lisa and I visited the pumpkin patch with the local MOMS Club that we are a part of. It was the same farm that Stanley visited for his kindergarten field trip. (I went to the pumpkin patch twice in two days!) Lisa had so much fun! It was rainy, but that didn't stop her enthusiasm. She loved taking a hayride, picking out a pumpkin, and seeing the animals. She liked seeing the animals, but she was happy to not touch them. She tried feeding the goats, but didn't like it when they licked her hand.

Stanley's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Stanley's kindergarten class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch, and I was lucky enough to be able to chaperone. We went to a local farm, and they had it all! Straw bale maze & pyramid, animals, hayride, and of course, pumpkin patch! The kids each got to take home a pumpkin. It was a beautiful day...even a little hot!
