Stanley's Injury

Stanley was playing bubbles in the backyard. He was running with a bubble wand on a rocky path and slipped. He had a big gash in his knee, so we went to urgent care. He had to get the wound cleaned out and glued closed. So he doesn't reopen it, he has to wear a splint and bandages to keep his leg straight for 4 days. Then he has to sit out of recess and PE for a week. Who would've known bubbles could be so dangerous!

Making the best of our urgent care waiting...
drinking tea and reading books.

His leg is all wrapped up!
(I'll spare you the gory photos of his cut.)

Camas Lilies

The town of Camas is named after the Camas Lily. We have a beautiful field of Camas Lilies that are near Round Lake about 5 minutes from out house. We had a gorgeous day while the lilies are in bloom, so the kids & I hiked up to see them. It is so difficult to capture the beauty in pictures. The purple flowers go on and on. It's such a sight to see and totally worth hiking up the big hills!

Lisa's swim class

Lisa has been taking swim classes for the last 2 months. She went from level 2 to level 3. She can front and back glide, swim underwater, float, kick, and loves to be in the water! She's all ready for our vacation to San Diego in two weeks!

Tulips!

We went to Holland America Flower Gardens to see the tulips yesterday. There were so many different colors and varieties. Everyone had a different favorite. We got to pick a bouquet from the u-pick field to take home a big of springtime for our house. Even though the flowers were beautiful, the kids' favorite part was jumping in the muddy puddles in the field.

Next we went to Bricks & Minifigs Lego store, and then out to lunch at the Japanese seafood buffet. It was a fun family Saturday!

Last day of basketball

Stanley has his last day of basketball for the session. He has improved so much! The coach he had this time is the head basketball coach for George Fox University, so he got some great skills introduction and fundamental drills this time around.

Happy Easter!

We had the best Easter! The kids woke up and started finding hidden eggs right away! The Easter Bunny hid candy-filled eggs all over the house and left Easter baskets. The kids had a great time playing with all their new toys and eating candy all morning. We had a delicious dinner of ham, asparagus, salad, and rolls. Lisa said, "This is the best day ever." Stanley replied, "Tell me about it!" I think this Easter was a success!

Lisa's First Eye Appointment

Lisa had her first eye exam, and she loved it! She was the most enthusiastic eye patient I've ever seen. The doctor said she was the best patient all day. And the best thing was, her eyes are looking great!

Bricks Cascade Lego Exposition

We visited the Bricks Cascade Lego Exposition again this year. It's always fun to see all the amazing creations all build out of Legos! Stanley gets inspired by the designs and comes home ready to build his own new scenes.

March Birthdays

Matt & I both had our birthdays in March!

Matt's bday:
The kids & I bought Matt some presents and the kids made him the cutest cards. We had a yummy dinner from Hana Korean Foods and brownies for desert. Later that week, Matt went to the Portland Roadster Show.
