Water Park & Aviation Museum

Last weekend we travelled down to McMinnville, Oregon to visit Wings & Waves Waterpark and Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum.

The first day, we went to the waterpark. There are huge water slides, a wave pool, a climbing structure including water features, and a vortex pool. It was so fun! Stanley & Matt went down the water slides many times. To get to the top of the slides, there are stairs that reach all the way to the roof! Lisa preferred the calm, regular pool. She just loves to swim around!

That evening we ate dinner in downtown McMinnville at Grain Station Brew Works. It was a great atmosphere and the food was delicious! We stayed in a hotel that night, and had breakfast there in the morning.

The next day, we went to the aviation museum. We've been here before, but it's such an interesting place to visit! It features the Spruce Goose, which is massive! But there are many different types of planes, flying machines, and space craft on display.

Stanley saved up all his money until he had enough to buy a fish tank, all the supplies, and fish. He chose a 5-gallon tank and 4 neon tetras. He named them, The Tetra Team. It was a good experience for him to figure out a budget, save money, and learn how to take care of fish.

Disc Golf

Every Wednesday in October, Stanley has been taking a 2-hour disc golf class. Disc golf is a sport where you throw a frisbee into a basket and courses are set up similar to golf. He had a great time and learned a lot. He even got his own set of discs! This is a sport that Matt liked to play (before we had kids), so he took Stanley to a local disc golf course to play.

Fall Fun!

There have been so many ways we've been enjoying Fall and early Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch
Lisa's kindergarten class had a pumpkin patch field trip scheduled, and I was ready to chaperone. That morning, the school nurse called and said Lisa didn't feel well. I went and picked her up, and she spent the day on the couch. So much for the pumpkin patch with school!

Instead, I took Stanley & Lisa to a pumpkin patch when they had a Friday off of school. We went to the cutest little place called Joe's Farm. We went in a corn maze, on a hay ride, and picked out some beautiful pumpkins!

Halloween Party
Stanley's friend has an amazing Halloween party every year. This is the fourth year that we've gone to it. They have a different theme each year, and this year was Jurassic Park. They create a haunted house that goes along with the theme in their garage and have the whole house decorated. Stanley had so much fun with his friends! Lisa, on the other hand, was scared the entire time.

Boo Bash
Our town has a Halloween tradition called Boo Bash. They close down the streets and all the business hand out candy. It's a mad house, but a fun time to look at costumes, get candy, and see friends. This year we met up with my friend, Rebecca, and her kids.
