Summer Swimming
Lisa & Stanley finished two sessions of swim lessons at the Camas Pool this summer. Stanley is working on his strokes, like the front crawl and elementary back stroke, and diving in the water from a sitting or kneeling position. He has gotten so much better at these skills this summer! Lisa is now going underwater comfortably and floating on her front and back. We've also been going to a lot open swims this summer. These kids love the pool!

Tootsie Fairy
Lisa decided that she was done with her tootsie, and was ready to give them all to the Tootsie Fairy! She decorated a box, and put all of her tortoises inside. When she woke up in the morning, the tootsies were gone and some Paw Patrol toys were in their place! She's been doing good without her tootsies, but she's asked for them a few times (mostly when very tired or sad). But we don't have them anymore since the Tootsie Fairy gave them to babies who need them!
Dentist Visits
The kids had their 6-month dental check-ups. Both kids did great and got their cleanings and exams. Neither of them had cavities. Yay! Stanley has his 6-year molars grown in, so he's going back to get sealants put on them. Best part of the visit: getting to pick 2 toys from the toy room!
Lisa's ER Visit
We were having a lovely Sunday evening in the yard, when I heard the loudest cry ever from Lisa. Stanley and Lisa had been playing frisbee, and she got hit in the eye. After getting her in the house to assess the situation, Matt noticed that her pupils were two different sizes (which looks REALLY freaking with her light blue eyes).
We called 911, and when the paramedics came, they had no idea why her eyes had different sized pupils (super-small in the hurt eye, and big in the other). They called the emergency room, and the doctor recommended brining her in to the ER by car. So I loaded her up, and we made our way to the hospital.
We didn't have a very long wait, and when we go to our room her pupils were back to normal. The doctor said that when you get in the eye (and you know its not a head-injury) the iris can have a muscle-spasm and cause the pupil to get really small and tight. They tested her eyes for other injuries, and found that she had a corneal abrasion. She had to have medicine in her eye 4 times a day, but it healed up very quickly!
Everything turned out fine, and the doctors said she was the best 3-year-old patient they've had!

Camas Car Show
We made our annual visit to the Camas Car Show. It such a beautiful day to spend in our cute little town. They close down the streets, have bands playing, and fill the town with amazing cars. It's always a good time!

Water Carnival
Each Friday in August, the City of Camas has an event called Family Fun Friday. There is a different fun theme and activities for an hour at the park. We went to the Water Carnival. They turned on the park sprinklers, had a giant water slide, and the fire department brought a truck and sprayed the kids!

Mimi & Papa's House Part II
After Purdue, we went back to Mimi and Papa's house for a few more days before we flew back to the Northwest. We had so much fun playing at the Blast Off park, going to the splash pad, running around the yard, and spending time with family.
When we flew back, we took a red eye flight. They kids slept the whole way! And then...we were home again.

Purdue Visit
When we drove back from Ft. Wayne, we went out of the way to spend some time at Purdue. We went to Lafayette Brewing Company, where Matt and I first met. We visited the building where Matt had most of his classes. We saw the new Neil Armstrong building. We also shopped for lots of Purdue gear!

Ft. Wayne Visit
While on our big Midwest vacation, we drove up to Ft. Wayne to visit with more of the Wooten clan. All of Matt's brothers and sisters met up at Mike and Stephenie's house, so Lisa and Stanley got to spend some quality time with their aunts and uncles. We spent a lot of time hanging out in the beautiful backyard, went to a festival, visited the fort, and rode in the rail buggy. Unfortunately, we also almost cleared their house of band-aids because of how many times Lisa fell down and scraped herself!
We had such a great time with Mike, Stephenie, Elizabeth, Adam, Kris, John, Kathy, Susan, and Alex (via Skype). We also spent time with a friend of mine from college, Margey, and her kids, as well as Matt's friend from high school, Tom. So many great people in one place. It was a wonderful visit!
