First Grade

Stanley's birthday was on Sunday, and his first day of first grade was Monday! He is taking the bus again this year, and he was excited about his new teacher. He was not happy about having to go to school instead of playing with his new birthday toys, though!

Happy 7th Birthday, Stanley!

Our sweet boy turned 7 years old! He hasn't had a birthday party for a few years, so he really wanted to have his friends over to celebrate this year. We threw a Lego party, with games, pizza, and cupcakes! It was fun time, and a great way to welcome the next year of life for this great kid.

The kids had to balance a Lego on a spoon
and put it into another container.

I painted Lego rocks,
and we hid them around the yard for the kids to find.

Summer Fun

We soaked up the last days of summer with lots of fun activities!

Soapbox Derby
Every year we go to Mt. Tabor in Portland to watch the Adult Soapbox Derby. It's so fun to see what crazy creations everyone comes up with. The kids love to watch the cars race down the mountain, too!

Bowling
Stanley, Lisa, & I went bowling at Big Al's. Lisa was so cute how she bowled. She ran as fast and far as she could, and then pushed the ball. Both Stan and Lisa did great for one game, but once the second game started, they were done. Lisa didn't like how loud it was, and Stanley thought the ball was too heavy. So we left, and I got the kids Happy Meals. What a fun day!

Oaks Amusement Park
We went to Preschool Rides at Oaks Amusement Park. The kids went on so many fun rides! We even went on the little roller coaster this time.

Picnic at Sellwood Waterfront Park
After we went to Oaks Park, we stopped at Sellwood Waterfront Park for a picnic. It's a beautiful park on the Willamette River. We walked down the beach and the kids played in the rocks and on the logs.
