Potty Time Celebration!

Lisa filled up her potty chart and reached the ice cream goal! In addition, Stanley has gone 2 weeks staying dry at night without wearing a pull-up. So, we took both kids to Flash Freeze Dreamery for an ice cream treat. The kids picked their flavors and mix-ins, and then the ice cream is created before their eyes using liquid nitrogen to freeze it. Stanley picked birthday cake ice cream, and Lisa wanted vanilla with sprinkles.

Coffee Shop Story Time

I took Lisa to a cute little coffee shop called Boomerang for story time. They read stories about dinosaurs, sang songs, and played games. Then they made a dinosaur craft. It was so cute!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a fun and busy Valentine's Day this year!

The day started with a yummy breakfast of heart pancakes. After breakfast, the Matt and I gave the kids a little Valentine's Day present from us. Stanley got a Star Wars Lego sticker book, a mini-fig, and a valentine card. Lisa got a Paw Patrol dress-up costume, a Disney Cars car, and a valentine card.

In the afternoon, Stanley and I went to the Portland Audubon Society for a tour of the Wildlife Care Center. Then we went for a fun scavenger hunt hike through the forest. While we were hiking, Matt and Lisa went out to lunch.

Monster Jam

Matt and Stanley made their annual visit to Monster Jam last weekend. Stanley was super-excited to see the Scooby Doo truck and Grave Digger. Matt and Stanley also went out to dinner and ice cream together afterwards.

While the boys were off watching monster trucks, Lisa and I went shopping and ate lunch out at Red Robin.

Valentine's Day Cookie Decorating

Stanley and Lisa both had Valentine's Day cookie decorating events today!

Lisa and I went to a MOMS Club event today at a local shop called Cake Happy. They set up cookie decorating supplies for the kids--cookies, frosting, sprinkles. Lisa had fun squirting her frosting and putting the sprinkles on. She ate one cookie and saved the other for daddy. There were a lot of kids in the cafe, and when I asked Lisa if she liked it, she said, "It was crazy!"

In the afternoon, I went to Stanley's kindergarten class to volunteer at his class party. They also decorated cookies, and they got to look at their valentines. Stanley had fun loading lots of candy onto his cookie, but only ended up eating about half. He saved the other half for daddy. (They both must think daddy likes cookies!)

Potty Time!

Lisa is working on using the potty more consistently. She got a new potty seat--Paw Patrol! Hopefully that will help motivate her. And for a little more incentive, she got a new sticker chart. She's working her way to the big prize of going out for ice cream. But in the mean time, she gets candy treats along the way. She just earned her first lollipop!

Raptor Road Trip

The Portland Audubon Society put on an event last weekend called the Raptor Road Trip. They had stations set up around Sauvie Island with naturalists and scopes to help point out significant birds. We saw bald eagles, pileated woodpeckers, sandhill cranes, red tail hawks, and much more! One station also had education birds that you can see up close and kids' activities.

Hop, Skip, & Jump-a-thon

Lisa's preschool had a fun event called the Hop, Skip, & Jump-a-thon. The students did laps through an obstacle course as a fundraiser. Lisa loved going through all the obstacles. And at the end they got a medal!
