Piano Lessons

Stanley started taking piano lessons with a teacher in her home. He's been having fun doing his homework and going to class. Hopefully he'll continue to like it!

Birthday Celebration at School

I was parent-helper at Lisa's school when she celebrated her birthday with her class. She brought chocolate chip cookies and milk as her birthday treat. The class sang Happy Birthday to her. She got to choose a prize from the "birthday box" and wore a birthday crown.

Lisa chose a bouncy ball from the birthday box.

The theme of the day was "camping."
Her teacher made a pretend campfire...
look at how excited Lisa was when she turned out the light!

Lisa's 3rd Birthday

Lisa turned 3!! She had her birthday party at the gymnastics gym where she takes lessons. There was a coach who lead games with Lisa and her friends to start the party. After the games, the kids were able to run around and have free time on the equipment. They all had so much fun running, bouncing, jumping, and playing together. At the end, the coach presented Lisa with a gymnastics medal. Lisa said, "Now I'm a real gymnastics girl!" Next we had cake and opened presents in a room decorated with Paw Patrol decorations. After the party, we went out to eat pizza (Lisa's request).

It was a great day, and Lisa had so much fun celebrating with her friends and family!

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year! We went for a beautiful hike at Moulton Falls. The park has 2 waterfalls and a gorgeous foot bridge over the Lewis River. There are some volcanic rock formations next to the river. Stanley had so much fun climbing around on the rocks and discovering tadpoles in some of the puddles. He didn't want to leave that spot! We also had a nice picnic lunch together in the forest. Such a wonderful time celebrating being a mom with my sweet family!

Stanley the Gymnast

Stanley's gymnastics class had a showcase of skills called the Parade of Planets. He showed us his talents on the horse, rings, parallel bars, climbing rope, and tumbling. At the end, he got a certificate and ribbon!

Fun Downtown Events

Our little town has some great, family-friendly events! We went to First Friday this month, and the next day was the town garden fair.

Whipple Creek

I've been trying to explore different hikes in our area. We took a family hike to a new place called Whipple Creek. It was a beautiful hike through a forested area. The trail was also used by horse riders, so the kids were excited to see the horses pass by (although they did not want to pet them!). We also saw banana slugs and wood snails along the way. It was a nice family day in the woods!

Little Gymnast

Lisa moved up to the next class in gymnastics! She does her class without mommy now. Big girl gymnastics!

Camas Lily Fields

Our town, Camas, is named after a lily the native americans used as an important food source. Near Round Lake, there is a Camas lily field that blooms in late April. I took the kids for a hike to see the flowers. The hike started out beautiful. We were having fun and the weather was nice.

When we were close to the lily field, it started raining. I tried to stay positive, and I told the kids, "Isn't the sound of the rain beautiful in the trees? Look how pretty it looks falling on the lake." Then it started raining harder and harder. We finally reached the lilies, we snapped a few quick pictures, and headed back in the pouring rain. We were all soaked and cold!

I promised the kids hot chocolates when we got back, which kept everyone going. We finally made it back to the car, and we headed out for our warm drinks. It was a very eventful hike!
