Fort Vancouver National Historic Area is near where we live. It was a 19th-century fur trading outpost along the Columbia River. They have a celebration every year, where they have activities that residents of the fort would have done during the holiday season. There are many different buildings at the fort, and each one has a function. There's a blacksmith shop, a carpentry shop, the house, the fur trading post, a jail, and more! It was fun to see all the historical buildings, activities, and reenactors.
